Allergy Disclaimer: While we work hard to remove everything from dulse. It may contain small shells and trace amounts of shellfish.
Dulse Colour: We always choose the best dulse that nature provides! In the spring and summer it tends to dry light brown. As the season ends, in the fall, it can be dark and black. We try very hard to make a consistent product but there will be some colour variations. Small amounts of salt precipitate are also naturally found on dry dulse.

Purple dulse! Most dulse sold on Grand Manan is brown, but as you get further away Dulse is associated with a purple colour. It has a different and unique flavour and some people prefer it! Think of it like any cured or aged food. We can create purple dulse with certain drying techniques, or allow the humidity from the air re enter the dulse and gradually create a nice purple dulse. We will adjust our product based on your preference and geographical location!
